The conventional narrative is a mine threat near Hormuz, or a warning with no hull. Sunday's public record is a named Iranian island.

## What changed
AP, live, naming Tim Hawkins of US Central Command: US forces struck two IRGC launchers on Larak Island. The launchers were preparing sea-mine rockets into the Strait of Hormuz. Hawkins said the United States finished clearing international routes last week. That is the 25 August Zero Tolerance line, not leftover uncleared mines.
Larak is an Iranian island. This is a land strike. It is not a channel sweep, and it is not the Traffic Separation Scheme.
IRGC Gen. Hossein Mohebi called it a fatal mistake and said the enemy would pay militarily and economically.
The dead are not one number. BBC: some civilians. Al Jazeera: soldiers killed and injured. AP, carrying IRIB: fighters and compatriots. Keep the split. Do not pick one.
CNBC's headline was "near Hormuz." Axios's was "mine threat." Both dropped Larak.
UKMTO 122-26 still has hull, flag, and IMO blank. AP folded that warning into the Larak story. This page does not. Muscat is silent.

Near-Hormuz frame. CNBC and Axios. The island is the thing they dropped.
Casualty frame. Three desks, three counts. Not one death toll.
Warning frame. 122-26, unnamed hull. A different product. Still blank.
Sweep frame. That is the live oman-channel page: mines-gone versus a Muscat-Tehran schedule. This strike is not that sweep.
Those jobs are not the same story. The island can be checked. The omitted name is the one that traveled.
## Reporting versus inference
Reporting is: Hawkins, named by AP, said two IRGC launchers on Larak were preparing sea-mine rockets and that international routes were cleared last week; Mohebi said fatal mistake and a military and economic price; BBC printed some civilians; Al Jazeera printed soldiers; AP carrying IRIB printed fighters and compatriots; CNBC and Axios dropped Larak from the hed; UKMTO 122-26 still does not name hull, flag, or IMO; Muscat has not spoken on this record; the Guardian carried a vowed Iranian response and a Reuters-reported intercepted missile on US forces in Jordan.
Inference, labeled as such: a land strike on Larak is not a statement that the TSS was still mined, or that a Muscat-Tehran sweep is on, or that 122-26 is the same ship. Clearing last week and striking a new launcher are the same Zero Tolerance claim. We confirmed that they named the island.
## What may follow
Reasoning, not a forecast.
If the mine-prep frame is right, the next checkable fact is another named launcher, or a named mine in the water. If the casualty split is right, the next official product either keeps civilians and soldiers as separate counts or collapses them. If the warning frame is right, 122-26 gets a hull. If the sweep frame is the wrong merge, Muscat stays silent on this strike.
## What remains unresolved
Whether the objects were sea-mine rockets. Which of the three casualty counts is the IRGC's, and which is the civilian one. A hull, flag, or IMO on 122-26. A Muscat line. A Navy after-action that the TSS is clear.
